Today: Ten things I’m Grateful For
-
Supportive Family. My immediate family and I have been going through a rough patch, partly due to decisions of of own making, but also due to unfortunate circumstances beyond our control. But, we have, thus far, avoided calamity due to the generosity and help of other supportive family members; something we are truly fortunate to have and I am extremely grateful for.
-
This blog. It’s not viral or popular, but I’m grateful for this space to share my thoughts and ideas and express myself in my own way.
-
My craftiness. It doesn’t bring me in a lot of money, but it is a source of pride and gratitude that I do have other skills to share one of my creative sides, help put a smile on someone else’s face, and make a little cash at the same time.
-
My alone time. I’m always grateful for the time and opportunity to recharge my personal batteries without being disturbed.
-
Small opportunities. Being on the hunt for a reliable job while the start-up I work for slowly trickles in the money is a major headache, but being able to use the internet to find small opportunities to make a few bucks to help out, even though it’s not much, keeps me busy and helps me feel productive, so I’m grateful for the work, as I’m also learning a lot about myself and my other skills.
-
Peanuts. They are an inexpensive and tasty snack. They are also helpful in curbing my sometimes queasy stomach and a great source of protein.
-
Electric fans. For obvious reasons, this time of year, I’m grateful for reliable electric fans that keep me from melting into a puddle of sweat.
-
Streaming movies and television series. They keep me entertained when I’m doing some of my most mundane tasks around the house.
-
Summer rain. I look forward to hot summer afternoons when the rains move it and cool off the outside a little helping cool the inside a lot.
-
Books. This time of year, it’s common for the area to have either electric or internet brown-outs due to the weather or the construction season. I’m grateful that I have an extensive library of books to keep me entertained, until it gets dark, of course.
