Throwback of the Day: Another trip down memory lane.
Lemon Meringue Martini.
A few years back, about 2006 or so, when I used to participate in “Girl’s Night Out” with my karaoke friends, pretty regularly, my friend, Netanya, introdruced me to this fabulous drink.
Once a week, on Thursdays, when I wasn’t doing my karaoke show, my girls and I would go to a classy little bar called “The Red Martini”, during Happy Hour, to get served by our favorite blue-eyed bartender, Nate. We would let him practice his mixology skills on us and everyone was a fabulous concoction, but the Lemon Meringue Martini was my favorite.
It tasted just like a liquefied version of the pie, without the crust, of course, and the foam on top was so sweet and thick, that you had to use your fingers to get every last drop, as it slid to the bottom of the martini glass. Yum!
We stopped going when Nate got a job at “The Blue Star”. Nobody else could whip up those Lemon Meringues the way that Nate could; it just wasn’t the same.
