The rhythm of my heart

stopped unexpectedly.

The news fell on my ears

like a catastrophe.

I took his words with fear

and class and grace.

The tapestry of loss

and shredded lace.

A guitar strumming

gently on my heart.

But the alarm went off

and tore my world apart.

His chocolate kisses

now were bittersweet.

Kidnap my soul

this loss has cut too deep.
