Regrets

Regrets: A poem

I have a few regrets

of things I never did

Like people I could have met

Or things I wasn’t allowed as a kid.

I’m always moving forward

But I can’t help the looking back

At supposed loss of some reward

Lost dreams left in a sack.

I sometimes wish for chances

That will never come again

Friendships and romances

That can never be attained.

But, I have to look ahead

All those regrets are in the past

Though my hopes may feel like lead

It’s too late, the die’s been cast.
