Legislators are our overlords

They break all the rules

Keep the blind sheep fooled

And trade off rights that we can’t afford.

The wheels of justice move slowly
Sometimes the pace seems unholy
When the suspect is caught
The plan must be sought
To wrap the case like a cannoli.

Thoughts and prayers are no longer the answer
Mass shootings are recurring like cancer
This illness will spread
Bury us all with lead
Unless gun control’s seen as an answer.

Our democracy requires a task
For our rights we should fight and not ask
With our leaders corrupt
They have to be stopped
And kicked to the curb with the trash

Let the news of the day help us harden

But be sure to tend to your own garden

Don’t let the Dotard

Make your heart too hard

Don’t let anger invite or let dark in.
