There is freedom
In letting go
To fight another day

I may in fact simply
Decide to quietly walk
Away from fools
Who treat me disrespectfully

I look for
The week’s end
So I can find
Myself again
And be a hermit
Comfy
In my PJs

When you find
You’ve been tricked
You get mad & excited
But how can you defend
Against being gaslighted?

Candy corn
The most derided
Of Halloween treats
Is still a favorite candy
That I love to eat
